The Double Dollar Program is Back!

SNAP benefits may be used to pay for online orders. Those benefits are also eligible for the Double Dollar program. The information below explains how the program works and it can work the same way for online orders.

If you have SNAP benefits or Senior Vouchers make sure to stop by the market Welcome Station and take advantage of a great program we have to offer called Double Dollars. How does this program work? Here is an example: You choose to spend $20 on your SNAP card – we swipe the card using a card reader/processor and get your transaction approved. Then we provide $20 in tokens to spend with the farmers PLUS give you $20 additional in Double Dollars cards, which increases your spending power to $40. The maximum we will match per market day is $50 – so you can increase your spending power to $100 per market day with this program.

SNAP benefit tokens and Double Dollar cards can be used to purchase produce, fruit, eggs, meat, honey and baked goods. Senior Vouchers can be used to purchase fruit, produce and honey.

We also have vendors who are approved to accept the WIC Farmers Market vouchers. There are usually 3-5 vendors each market day that accept these vouchers. (Unfortunately we are not allowed to double these vouchers)

The Siloam Springs Farmers Market is open Tuesday and Saturday through October 25th from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Come by the market and check things out. Stop by and visit the market manager, Stacy, if you have any questions or would like to use your benefits to make purchases.

Onliine Market is Open!

We have had such beautiful weather! The farmers have been bringing an abundance of produce to market on Tuesdays and Saturdays. Tomatoes are ripe, fresh herbs are becoming more plentiful, eggplant and okra have made their debut. Green beans, new potatoes, carrots, and cucumbers are abundant! If you like to preserve fresh produce visit with the farmers about buying in large quantities. We have visited the farms and know they have plenty for canning!

The market continues to offer pastured poultry, beef and pork through two vendors – R Family Farm and J.D. Hudson Farm.

There are plenty of great baked goods, jams and jellies, hand made soaps, home made cleaning supplies and hand crafted items.

Double Dollars are here and you can visit the market booth to get matching money for EBT purchases and Sr. Vouchers.

Thank you for continuing to support the Siloam Springs Farmers Market at our physical market and through the online market!

Online Market closed Week of 6-22 through 6-28-14

The Siloam Springs Farmers Market will be located in the Arvest Bank parking lot on June 28th, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. while the Siloam Springs Heritage Festival is in the park. Since we will not have access to the concession building, which is the location where online orders are picked up, we are closing the online market this week. This should be the last time this season that the online market is closed.

You can still come to the market on June 28th and purchase your meats, produce, baked goods and crafts AND you can visit the Heritage Festival while you’re downtown as well.

Thank you for supporting your local farmers and artisans!

Hope everyone is still enjoying the option of ordering online. I enjoy using the online market to help me plan my meals for the week. On market days, I select the produce I need to complement the meals I’ve planned and each Saturday I pick up my meats, baked goods, etc. that I pre-ordered.

Enjoy perusing the list of wonderful products available through the Siloam Springs Online Farmers Market and physical market.

Each market day I arrive to find a new veggie or two making its debut. This weekend there was yellow squash, zucchini, green beans, new potatoes, & broccoli. Ok, so that’s more than two. It was an exciting morning as I walked through and made my purchases and then an exciting end to the market day when I walked through and saw tables that had been piled high with vegetables were left with few items.

I LOVE how our community comes and supports the local farmers and artisan bakers. You all are awesome!

Perennial Gardens and Susi’s Kitchen still have a nice selection of vegetable plants if you need to start your garden or want to plant additional items now for a later harvest.

Skopps Bakery has the best selection of jams and jellies in addition to amazing baked goods.

Circle C Candles has a large selection
of soy based candles and Keith, the candle maker, takes custom orders.

East Side Acres has farm fresh eggs every week.

Jajo’s Old Fashioned Cookies has cookies like grandma bakes. Yum!

R Family Farm and J.D. Hudson Farms has a wide variety of grassfed beef, pastured pork, poultry and farm fresh eggs.

Marie’s Crochet offers some great items for your kitchen and toys for the children.

Even though not all of the above vendors sell through the online market, most of them are at the physical market on Tuesdays and Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Pre-ordering from those who do sell through the online market guarantees that you will have the items you want and on pick up day you can peruse the physical market and shop for the produce you are looking for.

Thank you for faithfully shopping the Siloam Springs Farmers Market. We appreciate your business!
