We have some of their amazing cheeses(Chocolate Chèvre, Fromage Blanc, Greek, Italian and plain Feta and Farmers cheese). They can be preordered online or purchased at the Market Welcome Station.

There are only two more outdoor market days left! Saturday, October 24th is Customer Appreciation Day!!! For every purchase you make you will receive a ticket to enter a drawing for a asker FULL of locally grown or locally made products!

We would love to see our armrest and vendors go home with empty crates on our last day. Bring a friend and come shop the market!

There are two more Tuesdays and two more Saturdays left for the outdoor market. October 31st begins the first winter market pickup. Watch for information about which farmers/vendors will be participating this winter!

Have a great week!

Online Market Is Open,

Thank you for shopping with us at the Homegrown Festival!

Weblog Entry

Just a reminder that the outdoor market will be setting up at the Homegrown Festival, Saturday, October 3rd! We originally planned to set up on Broadway Street but were offered the space in the Hoffman parking lot where the mural is and we jumped on the chance to be in the heart of the festival!

We will be opening at 8 a.m. like always and the festival will be opening at 10 a.m. The festival vendors will be setting up between 8-10 so the area might look a bit crazy but don’t let that stop you from coming to shop at the market-our farmers and vendors value your business and we hope being located at the festival makes this a great day for all our customers and also introduces others in our community to the farmers market for the first time.

The Farm to Table dinner was a success and the reason for a late market opening. Many apologies.

The Farm to Table dinner is SOLD OUT! Market will be open from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. that day. We are closing an hour early to allow our farmers to get home, unload their equipment, rest and get ready for the dinner. Kids Day events will still be happening so make sure you bring your kids to market that day.

Perennial Gardens has mums available! Two different sizes priced at $7.50 and $5. Stop by and visit Shelly to purchase your fall mums! She raises locally grown, healthy plants.

M & D Specialty Growers just listed Spider Lilies in red, white and gold colors. 3 bulbs in each pot. They expect figs and chestnuts to be available beginning in October and plan to sell them at market and via the online market after the outdoor market closes.

Pre-order your eggs, meats, cheese, baked goods, jams and jellies to ensure your favorite items are ready for you and pick them up on Saturday morning, between 9 a.m and noon, at the outdoor market.

We are only a couple of weeks away from our first Farm to Table dinner! It’s going to be an amazing event and I can’t wait to share a meal with our farmers and market customers. If you would like more information about the dinner, check out the Facebook event page – https://www.facebook.com/events/1476428759319521/

Hope you’ve checked out M & D Specialty Growers plants, shrubs and trees online. All of the items they grow are hardy for this area and healthy. Ms. Dorothy let me know that coming soon they will be offeriing LYCORIS (Spider Lilies) mixed colors(red, gold, white), in 1 gal pots.

Opossum Hollow Produce will begin coming on Saturdays only. Make sure to reserve your eggs by ordering through the online market.

R Family Farm is now offering ground buffalo! They are not raising it but they have a good relationship with the farmer who is (he was their orthodontist) and they are pleased to be selling his product. It’s a great addition to our market. I’m not sure it will be available yet online since this is a new product so be sure to visit them at the outdoor market if you are interested in purchasing some.

Skopp Bakery has a great variety of jams and jellies using locally grown fruits. Her peach jams were made from peaches on a tree in her yard! It is so good.

The Bread Basket offers a variety of loaf breads and I can attest to the ciabatta bread – it is great for sandwiches.

Perennial Gardens has beautiful, healthy plants and flowers available as well as some succulents. Stop by her table and check things out.

All of our farmers are working hard to keep the produce coming. This week we have started seeing sweet potatoes.

Remember, ordering online ensures the items you want are available and you can pick them up Saturday morning between 9 and noon and shop the produce while you’re here.

Have a great week!

Hoping this week is as beautiful as the week we just completed.
